DAY TRIP TO ESTES PARK

The town of Estes Park is a beautiful area of Colorado that serves primarily as a summer getaway spot, but also serves Colorado and its visitors year-round.
On the outskirts of Estes in the famous Stanley Hotel, which served as the basis for Stephen King's book-turned-movie "The Shining". It's not uncommon to see big-horned sheep and elk in the area. At 7,522 feet, Estes has a significantly higher elevation than Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs.
A trip to Estes from Boulder is only 37 miles, or roughly one hour by car. If you love natural beauty, chalk this up on your list of things to do in Boulder!
